The steering servo could do with upgrading, down the track. Don't consider it as strong enough.

When i figure out the characteristics better, am looking forward to shock & diff maintenance & tuning.

Having 3 adjustable LSD's makes it interesting. (rear one on the EXB as well)

Fitted a new shell to me Baja Rey.
Who in their right mind at Losi thought 22 tiny easily rounded out screws to attach a 4 part shell which is only replaceable as a whole not in parts was a good idea.

I think with this one i might trim a little behind the front wheels as these tyres are a little wider than the standard ones and chewed the old shell.

Glad i got curious about the "droop" settings.... rear was set to allow full shock extension, so have shortened by about 5mm.
Seems to have put the drive shafts into the diff end cup slightly too.... can understand why some peeps have them pop out.

Took my Mojave out today, behind the local rc track is a motorbike track kinda, but theres some roads leading into it.
Was able to stretch its legs (only 75% throttle) was a hoot. I got a rock stuck between suspension and wheel, its scored the inside of the wheel, not badly though.
Really need the net thing to stop junk getting into the chassis and important parts!

Good stuff! yeah almost every drive, i've ended up with a stone either stopping the ESC fan or right down in it.

Also need some bitumen tyres, have been back in that carpark & its taking its toll on tread levels.... have already front to backed them.

Curiosity & lack of faith, will see me pulling all 3 diffs shortly. Want to check oil levels & as they supply diff shims, will see about that too.
Will leave the "friction plates" in the rear LSD as is, but centre & front will be rearranged for less slip. Will use stock weight oils for now. Front & rear run 10,000 & centre 100,000.

This is proving to be a good distraction!

G'day... Looks like a great thread...Been off AFF for a fair while unfortunately due to other stuff and health matters ..

First up and it's not R/C but I love my HO Scale 1:87 model railway mostly in DCC now but I have also been doing radio control with construction /earthmoving models .

Been doing it about 18 months I guess now , It's not actually hobby grade although my most recent purchase is pretty good . Sticking with Huina as it's an affordable entry into this type of radio control hobbying .

I have three excavators all 1:14 scale . They are the 1592, 1593 and the notably more expensive 1594 with full metal undercarriage ..Two dump trucks also Huina also 14th scale and I dabbled with a dozer 1:16th but it isn't. It's more like 1:20th at best , Heavily modified it though and is okay ..

In Europe especially this style of R/C is humungous ..It' s really expensive as well with the serious enthusiasts spending big bikkies .. Somer of the ScaleArt suff is exquisite and many use real hydraulic systems to function ..

Its lots of fun but way out of my league .. I don't regret probably spending $30,000 over the past 15-16 years on my rail nor do I regret spending maybe $1500 getting into base level construction radio control .. I know I;d really regret not doing it because you only live once ..

Just a taste of the real stuff in Europe...think this is Germany or Austria ..

Picked up a PowerHD 30kg servo & some cheap hex drivers... have been fiddling with those tiny supplied keys.

Speaking with the Hobby shop guy & he recommends upping the diff oils rather than changing friction plates around.

The debris net thingy arrived & some beautiful cnc alloy suspension arms ..... measured up perfect & ran a pin through them & alignment, fit is all good.
Reckon for all 6 arms, about 40gms heavier.

Got it here from "lovesister" lol, but payed $28.... quick delivery!

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/354992941116

Also picked up shock & diff oil (expensive) Jap stuff. Rear will stay 10,000... Centre 300,000 up from 100,000 & Front 50,000 up from 10,000.

Should give it a lot more zip & tighten up , on power out of turns.

So much has changed since i used to do this.

Tons of info & vids on Youtube covering the different aspects.... i've been serving my apprenticeship on there to try & get up to speed.

Have just realised this new servo is programable too.... cant see myself delving into that though.
