Just suffered some damage to my Cougar. Some young female 'P' plater just ran up the rear of my Cougar at the traffic lights in her rusty maroon Commodore ****box. I was stopped with my foot on the brake (brakes lights on, I checked they worked afterwards at home) and she must've braked too late or rolled into me. I felt a slight bump but thought nothing of it until I got home and seen.
Not well pleased to say the least. I did have perfect factory paint. Picture shows the imprint of her numberplate on my rear bumper.

Thats a bit of bad luck mist of it will rub out and at least it hasn't cracked the bumper.
Just one of the pleasures of being a motorist.

Once you get rid of the red paint it shouldn't be that bad. With cougars having big bum, anything on the rear bumper will spoil the looks. You are lucky though that there are no cracks. Try and remove that red paint and give it a good polish, it should be just ok. You are gonna give it a yellow transformation anyway. cheers

A light rub with some cut and polish should remove the majority of it, just be sure you only rub it lightly in a circular motion and take your time doing it. In this case if you'll pardon the pun it should actually buff out

There was quite a bit of paint missing under the red and white, and the nasty cut from the top edge of their bent number plate.
It's all fixed now. Spent today doing the repair. Looks much better. Not changing the whole car to yellow until I've collected up all the new bodykit parts. Could take a while.
