Default weird clunk noise

Well when i drop into a lower gear (manual) doing high revs and i dont accelerate there is a loud "CLUNK" or something, it also does it when i go high revs, stop accelerating and dont change gear.

It mostly happens in 1st but somtimes in 2nd.

Car still works fine but it sounds like something is wrong so any replys greatly appreciated

i get the same clunk with mine, when i drop into 3rd, it pulls the car back, when i go into second it clunks,

but i find if im below 40 kms an hour and doing low revs i dont get thre clunk in 2nd gear when i manual down shift it, its probaly something to do with the torque converter

Posted by Xcabbi, Does it slap or rattle? Rattle is more to do with timing chains and tensioners. Slap is more to do with lifters, rings, bearings or GENIII boat anchors
